The McNally Family

McNally’s Taproom is a new craft beer destination in downtown Hillsboro featuring 20 rotating taps of premium craft beer, natural ciders, and mead. Select bottles of specialty craft beer are also available for on site or off premise consumption. We are a new business at the corner of 4th & Main Street in the award winning “4th Main Building”. Our building was recently recognized by the Portland Business Journal as the “best public & private partnership 2014” for the Better Bricks Award. We have outdoor seating in a unique private beer garden and great exterior views of the courtyard through a large glass roll up door. Additionally we have capacity to seat 65 people indoors. Public Transportation is accessible directly behind the building (TriMet Max Hillsboro Blue Line, SE 3rd Transit Center).

We are a family business with a long history in brewing beer that dates back to both Germany and Ireland. Jim McNally, President & Founder, is a Cicerone Beer Server, and has been a home brewer for over ten years.

Jim’s thirst for quality beer originates to his travels throughout the world as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. His knowledge of NW hops, water, yeast and malted barley was significantly upgraded when he met his wife, Dina, a native Oregonian. Like many great beers, brewers and breweries, the McNallys landed in Brooklyn, New York City and shared family recipes with their fellow countryman. Jim’s Great-Grandfather ,Peter McNally, started McNally’s Tavern in Brooklyn New York. Another Great Grandfather, Joseph Singer, was a brewer for Cresson Springs Brewery in Pennsylvania. Joseph Singer, Master Brewer, was also an early member of the US Brewers Association (1897) prior to their reorganization into what is now the Craft Brewers Association.

Jim’s early roots include growing up in New York City and Philadelphia. He attended Penn State University and was commissioned a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. The McNallys have a long, and decorated history of Marine Corps service to our nation. Please come by to sample craft beer, visit with your friends and neighbors, and make an introduction.
